Jonathan Hernandez, founder & CEO
Jonathan Hernandez started painting at eighteen with no background in the trade. He learned fast. At a painting company in the Valley he rose from apprentice to team leader to foreman, running crews and learning what separates a paint job that lasts from one that peels after two summers.
When the owner of that company passed away, Jonathan decided to build something of his own. In 2010 he founded Johnny’s Custom Painting and Home Improvement, now Johnny’s Custom Painting Inc., on a simple idea: prepare properly, use premium materials, and treat every client as a long-term relationship rather than a one-off job.
More than sixteen years later, most of our work still comes from repeat clients and referrals. We think that’s the truest measure of whether we’ve kept that promise.

Jonathan has spent his whole working life on job sites, and he still sets the standard for every project: surfaces prepared the right way, premium paints, and no shortcuts, even where nobody would notice.
He sees every contract as a partnership. The goal isn’t one job. It’s a client who calls back for the next room, the next building, or hands our number to a neighbor.
Isabel joined in 2014 with no painting experience, starting as a prep assistant. Within months she was prepping, patching, painting and spraying alongside the crew.
As the company grew she moved into client care and estimating. Because she’s done the work herself, she knows the products and process inside out, and guides clients through colors, finishes and the right approach with patience and zero pressure.
